About an hour drive from South Unit, the North Unit is rugged with some hidden dirt roads. Parts of it look like a scene out of a Star Wars movie. There are several iconic areas to capture photos, including the River Bend Overlook stone shelter built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Important to note, the North Unit receives less traffic than it’s counterpart and has no immediate surrounding town.
